A nice day trip is to visit Grover Hot Springs and Markleeville. It is about a one hour and forty-five minute drive over the Ebbetts Pass - highway 4 - the road is narrow and steep but beautiful. Map of county Alpine County. Hwy 4 just past Mosquito Lake
Calaveras Big Trees Association Be sure to visit Calaveras Big Trees State Park. It is located on highway 4 about 22 miles west of Lake Alpine. Don't miss the Dog Wood trees blooming in the spring or their fall colors (red).
